Sean & Sarah
We’ve lived in 17 houses over 22 years—so yeah, “settled” was never really in our vocabulary. One day we swapped bricks and bills for sea breezes and starry skies, chasing freedom on the water. These days, we live full-time aboard, sailing towards new horizons, strong coffee, and ports with halfway decent croissants.
Skiing & Sailing - Our Two Favorite Things!
Chief of Charts, Coffee & Chaos Management
Sarah met Sean 24 years ago and has been captaining the logistics ever since. First qualified at Kiel Yacht Club in Germany, she’s now fluent in provisioning spreadsheets, weather windows and politely telling customs officers where to stamp.
If something needs organising, stocking or negotiating — she’s already done it. Twice.
Boat Whisperer & Pint Philosopher
Sean’s been at sea since age 12, first on Scarborough trawlers, then through a solid stint as a British Army Officer. Now a qualified boatbuilder and yachtmaster, he’s the hands-on fixer of everything from diesel dramas to bilge-based mysteries.
He’s sailed all over the world and still claims this is the “easy life.” Especially with a beer in hand.
55 Feet of Floating Personality
Modus Vivendi means “way of life” — and she truly is.
A true bluewater cruiser with an encapsulated keel, skeg-hung rudder and a saloon that feels like a floating pub. She’s got two double cabins, two heads with walk-in showers, aircon and a drinks cabinet Sean will happily show off.
She’s been refitted, rewired, and re-named more than once — but she’s part of the crew now. !
The One That Started It All
Cosmic was our first boat and the one that taught us everything — mostly the hard way. Small, spirited and occasionally possessed, she took us from cautious coastal hops to full-on offshore misadventures.
She leaked, squeaked and swore back at us in every squall, but she had heart. We sold her on (reluctantly) to someone else chasing salty freedom, but we still toast her at sundown.
Helping Hands & Handy Humans
We might sail as a duo, but we’re never really alone. Friends drop in with skills, snacks or just good timing — and somehow leave things working better than when they arrived.
From leather repairs to galley upgrades, the odd genius fix shows up with the right person at the right moment. No guests, no freeloaders — just great mates who make this life a little smoother and a lot more fun.
Shameless, Salty & Occasionally Sponsored
This lifestyle runs on diesel, duct tape and doing things our way. We fund most of it through Sean’s marine consultations, Sarah’s creative hustle and a few things we sell that actually work.
But if you’ve got gear to test, a quirky brand that fits our floating chaos or just want to send wine — our hatch is always open. We only share stuff we genuinely rate.
If it floats, fixes or feeds us. Let’s talk!
