When Martin and Sean met at the Boat Building Academy in Lyme Regis, they bonded over wood shavings and bad coffee. So when Joanna and Martin joined us in Corsica for a spin around the Maddalena Islands, it wasn’t just for the view. Joanna clocked a worn patch on the spinnaker pole leatherwork mid-sail - and had it stitched up before the sunburn set in. Palma gave us sunshine, superyachts and a solid lesson in anchor drama. When our chain dragged and the toilet pump decided it hated us, we needed help - fast. Cue Pedro. From the outside, his workshop looked like a fishing shack. Inside? A treasure trove of marine bits and brains.

After selling up in the UK, Mark and Erika roamed every gorgeous corner of France -only to discover stunning views, questionable weather… and a lot of French people. So they headed south to Spain, still chasing the perfect place to land.

Mark is a walking pub quiz with a love of tools (using them is optional). Erika can turn her hand to anything and usually pulls the solution—plus snacks—straight from her Mary Poppins handbag.

They’ve shown up when we needed it most, with humour, heart, and help in spades.
